Quick Quacks revisit Northumberland May 2005

May found us Southerners flocking and flying North for the spring. Initially a tedious journey up the A1 but things picked up after a very pleasant lunch in the company of some strange Northern bikers we bumped into. They led us a merry dance to the hotel, considerably more interesting than what had gone before.

The hotel was the Holiday Inn Newcastle, good value, good food, adequate beer, good wine. The Friday evening chill out and meal included an excellent pre-ride presentation to bring us up to speed on Saturday's route.

Route and above picture unashamedly stolen from http://www.nextquackmeet.co.uk/

The route was technically challenging with beautiful views. Amazingly few people got lost *coughmatthewcough* and there were no significant incidents, always a bonus and a testament to the organisation. The food and drink breaks were excellent, most particularly TEATIME! Lots of cakes, drink and good company.

Saturday and it's party time! The Sultans of Swingarms put on a fabulous show, thanks guys, it just gets better and better. Keep it coming buys. Oh, wear the headband next time Gary, you know you want to.

Sunday morning is always a sad time, but has it's up times too, particularly when we decide where to go next!

September Gloucester and May back to Scotland with promises of extensions both times YAY!

Looking forward to seeing everyone next time...#
